Hi, folks,

here's another one to make up for the weekend and for the fact I might be unable to do a card tomorrow (Diplomatic mission placed on me by my ST Fan Club):

EYES IN THE DARK

Interrupt, common AU.
Plays when facing a dilemma. If Empathy present, add the skills and attribute numbers of one personnel (random selection) from any opponent's ship (your choice). AU icon.
"Deanna Troi saved the U.S.S. Enterprise in 2367 by communicating through nightmarish visions with a telepathic species on the other side of a Tyken's rift."

A potential lifesaver and a card that sounds a lot like it might have been called "Empathic touch" some time in the design process :-). It involves empathically reaching out to add somebody's skills to your own, so you might now understand the #154 goof...

So what's the use ? When you hit any Dilemma you think you cannot overcome you can just throw it on the table and hope for the best. Just remember where the personnel with the required skills are! Also, these skills are not killed when you still fail. Assume you lack the SECURITY for a Barclay's disease encountered on a planet. You play the Empathic touch, choose a ship and curse loudly, having drawn Bev Crusher. Your entire crew dies, but now... .. your Genetronic Replicator kicks in!!!

Yes, the Empathy is only required to first use the Eyes in the Dark and once it resolves, the skills are added to the crew (not just to a single person). Your crew is selected to die, you check for two MEDICAL and still have it-so they all come back to live to attempt another Dilemma!

That was of course a more-than-rare incident, more common is the situation where you just lack a few attribute points and success is nearly assured, so especially this case will prove to be a good use of the card.

Just always memorize the crews of your opponent, especially if she plays a swarm deck with lotsa ships out of which you can pretty comfortably select the one that gives you the greatest chance at survival.

Nice to have, better than the Transporter Armbands (old variant) as you don't get stopped if it works.
