Hi, folks,

here's something for a Klingon Armada deck:

LATINUM PAYOFF

Interrupt, common AU.
Plays if Greed aboard your ship when it destroys another ship in battle. X=3 bonus points for each OFFICER aboard destroyed ship. (Not cumulative)
"Gold-pressed latinum, which cannot be replicated, is a valuable metal used as currency in many less-developed sectors, primarily outside Federation space."
This card makes an entirely new deck type possible: A deck that does never even attempt to solve any missions! So don't care about putting together good crews, just man your Armadas of K'Vort class ships with one OFFICER each and blow away your opponent's ships! Try to seed a high number of Dilemmas so you get to seed your outpost last and get it as close as possible to your opponent's. Then, play five ships and five crew (hopefully aided by Red Alert and some card-drawing ability). Wait until she gets a ship out, then blow away the outpost. Then battle the ship and play a Latinum payoff. 3 or 6 points - instant Victory and very hard to defend against. There are unfortunately only three OFFICERs with Greed, none of them universal, so you will need a little luck, but you can also add the Duras family (all three leaders and greedy). Which means you need only eleven cards to win (plus the one Alert). Seven of them in your hand, five more to draw, that means five turns. Nearly no deck will get any mission points that fast unless they have a very lucky draw.

BTW: You can get more than just the 3/officer out of one enemy ship. But you need to destroy it with an Armada. The "not cumulative" means you cannot play it twice on one ship, but if they attack together, they can each gain the bonus. (Big unintended rules loophole!)

The card is thus interesting, however you will need to build an entire deck around it. And that's its weakness. You cannot really just throw it into a good deck in order to make it better. You have to build a new one entirely from scratch. But try it - nasty surprise and even the best defense will get your opponent only a draw.
