Wesley's STCCG card of the day #129

Hi, folks,

it's well past midnight now, but I'm not gonna let you sit there without a COTD tomorrow, so here it comes (forgive me any typos):

ICONIAN COMPUTER WEAPON

Dilemma, Space, Common
Unless SCIENCE present, re-boot by discarding all non-personnel cards in hand and replenish from top of draw deck. Discard Dilemma.
"Highly destructive virus from the ancient extinct Iconians. Transmitted to target vessels via a probe."
To quote Lore: "They call this a Dilemma?"

Yep, and still this card might be useful in some situations. Not that any player worth this name would use this on an OPPONENT, but how about getting some use out of it YOURSELF ?

Let's assume you're playing a really fast deck. And you now desperately want to run out of cards because you're ahead on points but your opponent is catching up. Just send a redshirt crew (without SCIENCE of course) to what- ever location you just strategically placed this little card. Then happily discard four, five or even six cards from your hand and draw to your heart's content. Net result: A few less turns for your opponent to catch up in.

Of course, this also works the other way round, but you cannot assume your opponent will go in there without any SCIENCE. Nope. Use it for yourself. (You can also employ this in the early game stages to get rid of unwanted cards and hopefully draw something better.)

And the advantage of this thingy over an event: You get exactly when you need it. No sooner, no later. And it does not cost you a draw deck card.
